Since acquiring Francisco Lindor from the Cleveland Indians for Amed Rosario, Andrés Giménez, Josh Wolf, and Isaiah Greene. The New York Mets have made it a priority to lock up Landor long term and with opening day in less than 24 hours, the team got it done. On Wednesday, Francisco Lindor signed a 10 year deal with the New York Mets worth $341 million. Lindor was in the final year of his contract.
In 60 games last season, Lindor hit 8 home runs, 27 RBI, with a batting average of .258 and an OPS of .750. Over the past few seasons, Lindor has proven to be one of the best shortstops in baseball. Before the short 2020 season, Lindor hit for over 30 in 3 straight seasons. Even though Lindor’s main strength is offense, his defense is nothing to overlook.
With New York signing Lindor to a massive extension before the regular season, the team now doesn’t have to worry about the distraction of Lindor for the foreseeable future. Lindor is someone the team can build around for years to come.
