The New York Rangers have a good amount of prospects that fans are excited to watch. With the focus of this team being on the future, it’s important to take note of how well some of these prospects are. Just recently the World Junior Summer Showcase happened. This is where prospects under 20 years old participate in games, representing their country. The World Junior Summer Showcase has come to an end a few days ago. The camp lasted a week-long and was where many young, talented prospects could show off their skills. The New York Rangers had a few prospects participate and they proved their talent.

For Team USA the Rangers had defenseman K’Andre Miller and defenseman Zac Jones. K’Andre Miller was a 2018 first-round pick and won a silver medal for Team USA in January. Zac Jones was a third-round pick in this past draft.

For Team Sweden the Rangers had defenseman Nils Lundkvist, center Karl Henriksson, and goalie Olof Lindbom. Lundkvist was a 2018 first-round pick, Henriksson was a 2019 second-round pick, and Lindbom was a 2018 second-round pick.

The Rangers prospect that caught the most attention was K’Andre Miller. Miller played in six games at this showcase. In total Miller had one goal, two assists, and 13 shots on goal. In one particular game against Finland, team USA lost 6-5. During the third period, Miller was on the ice almost the whole time. The team was originally down 6-3, on a powerplay Miller had an assist. On even-strength, Miller scored a goal that brought the team within a goal.

Another notable prospect was Zac Jones, who played four games and had three assists. This defenseman showed off his offensive side by having 12 shots on goal.

This is a really good sign for Ranger fans. The teams’ prospects are developing and can be dominant even when they are losing. With more camps like the WJC Summer Showcase, these prospects can develop into powerful players in the NHL.
