The Red Hat Service Delivery (SD) team is looking for a skilled Technical Project Management (TPM) Intern to join our team in New York, NY. The Service Delivery team is responsible for creating and maintaining the mission critical infrastructure and tools used to deliver Red Hat managed services to customers. In this role, you will have a chance to gain real-world experience with the latest processes, procedures, and techniques to guide and manage the development of cloud-native technologies. It is an exciting opportunity to expand your skills to help create the next generation of managed services for Red Hat, while gaining in-depth knowledge about Red Hat’s business and open source culture.
As a TPM intern, you’ll assist with the daily activities and development goals for Red Hat by working closely with engineers, and design and product teams. You’ll be responsible for helping coordinate software releases, allocate resources, and define processes. While your primary focus is the Red Hat Service Delivery team, you’ll work with associates and interns from other teams, enabling them to deliver quality and timely improvements.
**Primary job responsibilities**
+ Primary responsibilities may include assisting with the following:
+ Managing various projects of size and scope, identifying and delivering on priorities
+ Collaborating with engineering and product teams to coordinate complex technical projects
+ Establishing and implementing team-wide processes and improvements
+ Defining schedules for upcoming projects and clearly communicating goals to all team members
+ Gathering requirements, managing dependencies, and tracking release timelines across multiple teams and business units
+ Delivering improvements to internal processes
+ Measuring impact by developing and tracking meaningful metrics
+ Making strategic tradeoffs and switching projects as appropriate
+ Ability to work full-time hours during the summer of 2020 in the location listed (New York, NY)
+ Ability and desire to embrace complex technical ecosystems quickly
+ Comfort in a fast-paced environment
+ Familiarity with basic computer-science concepts
+ Solid organizational skills
+ Good written and verbal communication skills
